Take Lane Construction\u2019s <strong>Mala\u00efca (Mal) Dac\u00e9us<\/strong> for example on why she loves being a Design-Build Coordinator: <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group scroll-slide-in justify-content-center is-style-slide-in-side-blocks px-0 is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group left-box has-white-color has-lane-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group item-intro is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>\u201cI am passionate about building infrastructures and collaborating with key construction personnel<\/em>, <em>including craft employees, to carry out complex delivery projects. According to a 2020 report by <strong>McKinsey &amp; Company<\/strong>, gender-diverse companies are 25% more likely to achieve above-average profitability than companies with less diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Challenges for the construction industry<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While there are some hurdles for the industry to overcome, a woman\u2019s career in the construction industry can be very rewarding for both her and the industry itself.&nbsp; There are a variety of reasons why women may not be better represented in the construction industry, such as unconscious gender bias, lack of adequate training, lack of female role models in management positions, higher potential risk of injury on the job site due to poorly fitting personal protective equipment, and negative perceptions of women working in construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
